Vascular and Pigmented Lesion Treatment

These include age spots, leg veins, port wine stains, lentigines, actonic keratosis, sun spots, spider naevi, angiomas, rosacea and telangiectasias. Laser treatment can be used to improve most of these and some may even be removed. The clinic uses different techniques, all of which have been clinically tested and well researched. The most effective technique has been found to be the Dual Yellow Laser.

Vascular lesions

These are something that we can be born with or they can come with age or sun damage. They are caused by dilation of the small capillaries in the skin and look like red spots or large stains. They can also spread like spider veins or thread veins. The Dual Yellow Laser has a yellow light which shrinks the capillaries and this will reduce the redness in the area with a very small amount or no pain at all.

Pigmented Legions

These are usually caused by the sun, but can come as a result of hormones, ageing or injury and are very common. They include things like freckles, liver spots and age spots and tend to be areas of high amounts of melatonin, which is a pigment. The Dual Yellow Laser’s green light is used to target the melatonin and usually there is an instant fading of the area. However in some cases it will darken to start with and then fade over the course of a week. There is no damage caused to the surrounding area which makes it a great alternative to surgical removal or freezing which are much more invasive.

SR / SRA for Color Correction

Treat benign pigmented and vascular lesions using light and RF energies:

  • Light energy heats targeted tissue
  • RF energy elevates the temperature of the area
  • Pigmented and vascular lesions are reduced and skin appears rejuvenated
